Radiant Logistics has taken a significant step in strengthening its international freight forwarding capabilities with the acquisition of Transcon Shipping Co., Inc., a leading California-based logistics provider specializing in ocean freight services. This strategic move is set to bolster Radiant’s presence across key U.S. gateway locations, including Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, reinforcing its commitment to global trade expansion.
A Game-Changer in Ocean Freight Logistics
Founded in 1997 by Terry Lynch, Transcon Shipping has built a strong reputation for handling complex logistics solutions in industries such as furniture, recreational automotive, food, and consumer goods. The company’s expertise spans buyer consolidation, less-than-container-load (LCL) and full-container-load (FCL) shipments, as well as oversized cargo projects, making it a valuable addition to Radiant’s service portfolio.
Financially, Transcon reported $75 million in revenues and $4 million in EBITDA for 2024, reflecting its solid operational framework and industry relevance.
Seamless Integration into Radiant’s Network
As part of the acquisition, Transcon will transition to the Radiant brand throughout 2025, aligning with existing Radiant-owned operations in major logistics hubs. Terry Lynch will take on the role of Vice President of Global Network Development, working closely with Randy Briggs, Senior Vice President of International Services, ensuring continuity and seamless integration.
“This partnership represents a natural progression for our business,” stated Terry Lynch. “Radiant shares our vision for customer-centric logistics solutions, and their expansive network will provide our clients with access to an even broader range of services.”
Radiant Logistics’ Vision for Growth
Bohn Crain, Founder and CEO of Radiant, emphasized that the acquisition is a strategic move to solidify Radiant’s global capabilities. “By integrating Transcon’s specialized expertise in ocean freight, we are expanding our ability to serve global supply chains with greater efficiency. This acquisition also creates a synergistic effect, enabling Transcon’s customers to access Radiant’s full-service logistics solutions.”
What This Means for the Future of Global Logistics
The deal underscores a growing trend of logistics providers enhancing end-to-end supply chain solutions through strategic mergers and acquisitions. As global trade continues to evolve, companies that leverage integrated service models will be better positioned to handle supply chain disruptions and meet rising customer demands.
With Radiant Logistics strengthening its foothold in key trade corridors, industry analysts predict further expansions and investments in digitalization, automation, and multimodal logistics solutions.
