Port of Los Angeles Reports 16% Growth in August TEUs

Los Angeles — The Port of Los Angeles handled 960,597 TEUs in August.
This is a 16 percent increase compared to last year.
Officials said imports were strong.
Exports also rose.
Tariffs and new infrastructure helped boost activity.
“The port is moving more goods with greater efficiency,” said a port spokesperson.
Terminals processed more ships on schedule.
Truck and rail connections improved.
The port remains a key trade hub for North America.
Leaders expect steady volumes in the coming months.
