LOGISTEC expands its port footprint with the takeover of the IPA terminal in Altamira.

LOGISTEC takes a new step in its international expansion by securing the acquisition of the IPA terminal, located in the industrial port of Altamira in Mexico. Specialized in breakbulk and steel flows, the platform is at the heart of the North American industrial chains undergoing reconfiguration.
For the Canadian group, the operation is not limited to a mere geographical expansion. It reflects a clear intention to position itself on hubs capable of absorbing complex industrial cargoes, less exposed to the volatility of the containerized market. Altamira is currently benefiting from a renewed interest related to manufacturing nearshoring, a factor that is gradually reshaping regional logistics balances.
In this context, multipurpose terminals are regaining a central place in port strategies, offering revenue diversification and better resilience to economic cycles.
