Globe Air Cargo Dominican Republic appointed GSSA for Uniworld freighter operations

Globe Air Cargo Dominican Republic, part of ECS Group, has secured a new agreement with Uniworld Air Cargo to support the launch of freighter operations linking Punta Cana and Panama City.

The service, which began on March 23, 2026, operates twice weekly using a Boeing 737 freighter, offering an estimated weekly capacity of 40 tonnes. Flights run every Thursday and Sunday and are designed to handle a wide range of cargo types, including general freight, perishables, live animals and oversized shipments.

Through its Panama City hub, the service connects to multiple destinations across Latin America, including Bogotá, Caracas, Havana, San Salvador, Lima and San José. Additional routing options via Mexico also provide access to the United States and Canada.

The partnership strengthens ECS Group’s ability to deliver tailored cargo solutions by combining commercial expertise with operational capabilities and digital infrastructure.

Managing director Ivan Mejia described the agreement as a validation of the company’s agility and market knowledge, highlighting its role in enhancing regional connectivity and providing reliable capacity.

Uniworld Air Cargo’s commercial director Jossette Navarro said the Dominican Republic represents a high-growth market and a strategic gateway to Europe and North America, adding that the partnership will support faster market expansion.

The agreement further reinforces ECS Group’s position as a global GSSA, enabling airlines to scale operations and access new markets efficiently.
